Saturday 18th September sees International Night at Galashiels Baptist Church.

There will be dancing displays from different nations, a fashion show with colourful dress and lots of other activities as well as food from around the world.

It starts at 6.30pm.

2:47 Coffee Evening

The next 2:47 Coffee evening is on 5th July, 7pm to 9pm, at Fiores Coffee House & restaurant, Douglas Bridge, Galashiels.

Gary Brotherston will be speaking on his life from Prison to Praise.

There is also live music and a fun quiz and as always the first cup of coffee is free.

Night Vigil

Action by Christians Against Torture (UK) is joining with Christians around the world to be, for one night, watchmen in prayer for our tortured brothers and sisters.

This is to take place on the night of Saturday 26^th June (8.00pm-8.00am).

St. Peter’s Church will be holding a service at 9pm as part of this. You can also sign up at www.thenightvigil.com and pray in your own home.

Exhibition of Christian Mission

The largest exhibition of Christian Mission to be held in the Scottish Borders will be open daily from Tuesday 1st to Saturday 5th June, 10am to 8pm at St Pauls Church, Galashiels. It is part of the celebrations for the Centenary of the Edinburgh 1910 International Missionary Conference.

As well as many stalls there will be brief talks and multimedia presentations, for example the Leprosy Mission “Justice Tour 2010″ is on Thursday 3rd June at 7pm featuring an expert from India, Angola, Sudan, China or Laos.

The week concludes with a United Service of Worship on Sunday 6th June at 7pm with Rev. Alastair Morrice.

Junior Soulspan – No Aliens Allowed

Our Junior worship event takes place on Sunday 6th June, at 11:00 am in the Galashiels Baptist church hall. It’s for kids from 0 to 11 and is a different way to praise and worship Jesus. Great games, great music from the Junior Soulspan band, great videos, and their very own cafe. Also featuring Fatima Allover and Ivor Strangesmell and the News from Adams’ Time.

Christian Aid Week

To help mark the start of and to support Christian Aid Week there will
be a Variety Fundraising Concert in Old Parish & St. Paul’s on Saturday 8
May. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 pm start. Ticket prices are £5 per
adult and £3 concessions, half time refreshments included.

Tickets are available from the local Christian Aid representative.

Christian Aid Week itself runs from the 9th-15th May.

There will also be a Coffee Morning at Trinity Church Hall on Saturday 15th May from 10 to 12 noon (£1.20) – proceeds to Christian Aid.
