LapWing
Looking After People With Individual Needs in Galashiels (LAPWING) is a weekly Lunch Club, characterised by food, fun and friendship. There is a willing group of helpers from the fellowship who buy, cook, shift tables, wash-up and drive etc. There is always a warm, supportive and generous atmosphere.
It is an open Club, available to our church
fellowship, church neighbours and referrals from the Social Work Department.
As even weekly social events become important in the lives of our elderly, frail and socially isolated people, we work together with St Paul’s lunch club to keep at least one club going though out holiday times, including Christmas.
We are self-fund-raising, non-profit making and never keep much money in the bank, preferring to use it on equipment and outings.
