In conjunction with Soulspan Ministries, Galashiels Baptist Church are looking to find who has the best chips in Galashiels and it’s up to you to decide.

We will be visiting the chip shops in Galashiels to buy and then score their chips for taste, appearance and the standard of service provided. The winner will be presented with a trophy.

After the event there will be a youth club running with Pool, Wii, XBox, Table Tennis, Table Football and great Music Videos.

Union State are a worship band based in Lanarkshire and have been together since October 2009. The band are Scott on guitar and vocals, Ails on vocals, Rico on drums, Kevin on guitar, Grant plays bass and Paul on vocals and guitar. The sound is contemporary Christian, guitar driven and worship similar to David Crowder, Chris Tomlin and Delirious with some Snow Patrol and U2 sounds and textures in there too.

Union State’s “The way you love” was recorded in November ’09 with the EP launched in May ’10.

Junior worship event that is a different way to praise and worship Jesus. Great games, great music from the Junior Soulspan band, great videos, and the Junior Soulspan cafe. Featuring Fatima Allover and Ivor Strangesmell with the News from Noahs Time along with Dan Dan the Weatherman. Sunday 12th December at 10.30am.

Featured will be three bands, Trelese from Kansas City, USA, Anchor of Hope from Florida, USA and Yi’ood, a local Edinburgh band, each with a unique sound that will entertain but also usher you into God’s presence.

You will hear some familiar songs that you can sing along with, as well as original compilations that will rock your soul so that you can ‘Rock the City’ of Edinburgh with God’s love, power, his presence and bring the message of the kingdom to those who have lost hope.

It promises to be the best Christian concert in Edinburgh. Be there!

On Saturday we took a number of our Youth to Frenzy 2010, at Ingliston, Edinburgh.  It was the last ever Frenzy and as always it was awesome.

Bands included LZ7, Planetshakers, New world Son, Phil Wickham, thebandwithnoname, Hillsong United and Switchfoot.

Best of all, two of our youth gave their lives to Jesus.

Frenzy 2010

Frenzy will once again be held in the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston near Edinburgh on Saturday 12th June from 12 noon.

Performers include “Switchfoot”, “Hillsong United”, “Planetshakers”, “Phil Wickham”, “LZ7″ and “New World Son”.
